IMPORTANT: Anyone that did not come to us last year for their tax preparation has to be inputted as a new client.  Please read ALL the following information, so all appropriate forms are completed.  

 

Individual Clients - Income & Gift Taxes (New Client)

 

IRS requires that we get certain information from each client. 

 

We have to get a valid, unexpired, unaltered picture ID for the taxpayer and if married, their spouse.  We also need a valid unaltered social security card for each person on the return.  If anyone gets social security on your taxes, the social security 1099 statement will work in place of the card.  If you don't have a social security card, we will still do your taxes.  We just ask that you order a replacement, which is free of charge, and let us get a copy of the card when it comes in.

 

In addition, we need a client intake form (see below), a signed engagement letter and fee agreement (see below), a copy of last year's taxes (if possible), Individual Client Questionnaire and current year tax information.  In some cases, last year's taxes are required.

Email: If you would like to e-mail us your information, we only take PDF format files that have been originally scanned and saved as PDFs.  You cannot convert to a PDF from a picture file.  If you have a smart phone they often times take a picture then convert it to a PDF.  When it converts it to a PDF from a picture our computers reads it as an altered document and our systems will block it.  If at all possible, please scan them into a computer and save them as a PDF to your desktop.  Then attach that PDF to your email.
If you send more than 5 PDF attachments, including in multiple e-mails, we have to put your documents in a holding bin until someone can merge them.  It will speed up the processing of your return if you merge them into 5 or fewer documents before sending them to us.  How to Merge Files: Go to insert file on your PDF viewer and select it, it will ask you what you want to insert  Select the various pages you want to insert and insert them into the file you have open.  Jus hit save once you are completed or you will lose everything you inserted. 
Business Clients - Income (New Client)

For businesses, we need to get an information sheet for partnerships and corporations (see below), a signed engagement letter and fee agreement (see below), a copy of last year's taxes, a profit & loss statement for the filing year, a balance sheet for the filing year, a breakdown of equipment, assets, and furniture by date, amount and description, and a statement of cash flows.

 

This does not include single member LLC businesses or Sole Proprietor businesses since they are filed under individual taxes above.  If you have an estate or trust, we only need the engagement letter and fee agreement.
